At Ahmedabad Fashion Week 2024, Anant National University, India’s first DesignX University, showcased its Department of Sustainable Fashion and Textiles’ latest student-designed collection, All Eyes on Us. This innovative collection, created by the university’s talented students, was dedicated to raising global awareness about the pressing environmental challenges our planet faces, such as climate change, deforestation, and the depletion of animal and bird populations.
True to Anant National University’s commitment to sustainable design, the collection incorporated industrial waste fabrics, upcycled materials, and zero-waste pattern-cutting techniques, reflecting the university’s pedagogical focus on combining contemporary technologies with indigenous practices. The students’ creative use of recycled fabrics and creative surface techniques showcased their dedication to addressing environmental issues through fashion while ensuring minimal waste.
