At Ahmedabad Fashion Week 2025, Parul Institute of Design presents JALAJ – Where the Lotus Blooms in Banaras, a collection that seamlessly weaves storytelling, heritage, and contemporary design thinking. Rooted in the institute’s belief that every great design begins with a powerful narrative, JALAJ draws inspiration from the lotus—an enduring symbol of purity, resilience, and strength—and the timeless cultural soul of Banaras.

Much like the lotus that rises untouched from murky waters, the collection celebrates the spirit of the modern woman—grounded in resilience and radiant in celebration. The narrative unfolds through a symbolic colour palette: white representing clarity amidst chaos, pink and red reflecting passion and feminine power, and green signifying renewal and growth.

Infused with the essence of Banaras, each ensemble reflects a city where tradition lives through rituals, textures, and sacred craftsmanship. Intricate surface developments, meaningful silhouettes, and rich detailing come together to honour India’s cultural legacy while presenting it through a modern lens.
